I love it...this is too fun not to share! Best of all, the wedding took place here in St. Paul!

Are You Faster Than A Bride?
Even the most easy-going bride-to-be has in her the ability to snap into something else should anything come between the day she always imagined and the vendors, venues, and details she needs to make it happen. As long as everything goes well, that easy-going nature often plays out in the planning. But pit that bride against someone else who wants the same vendor or venue as her and, well, think of the movie Bride Wars. So what happens when hundreds of brides-to-be are all vying for that $9,000 designer dress selling for $699?
That's right, I'm talking about the annual "Running of the Brides®" at select locations of the now-famous Filene's Basement. Brides-to-be can save hundreds, even thousands of dollars on designer wedding gowns, and it's happening tomorrow in Chicago, IL. For one day only, bargain-hunting nearlyweds can find dresses that retail for $900 - $9,000 selling for $249 - $699. While the anarchy has an element of feistiness, the overall experience, I'm sure, is exhilarating + fun.
Jul 24th :: Chicago, IL (State Street)
Jul 31st :: Washington, D.C. (Mazza Gallerie)
Aug 14th :: Manhasset, NY
Aug 21st :: Boston, MA (Hynes Convention Center)
Oct 16th :: Cleveland, OH (Warrensville Heights)

Claire + Andrew | Married
If there's one thing I miss about Ohio, it's having four seasons. Still, there's one benefit to Minnesota's crazy + unpredictable weather: there's a great chance you'll have clouds in the sky, even in the summer. Contrary to the common belief that a bright sun is perfect for pictures, truth is clouds are a photographer's sunshine. It's like having a giant softbox (studio lighting) in the sky.
For Claire + Andrew's wedding, a little morning mist and an overcast sky were the right combination for killer images at Como Park. Scott, our newest lead photographer at Studio Blue, joined me for another wedding. Both of us had a great time with the wedding party and loved everyone's willingness to have fun with their pics. Perhaps my favorite image of the day was our Reservoir Dogs shot with the groomsmen. I think that makes Andrew...Mr. White.

Krystal + Jay | Engaged
I meet some couples in the most interesting ways. Krystal and her sister were bartending at a wedding we had a few months back and asked for my info before we left. When I got to meet her and Jay shortly after, we hit it off right away and, as you'd guess, I'm now their photographer!
Whether a couple feels comfortable in front of the lens, or not, I'm equally as passionate to give them the best photos they've ever had taken. Krystal + Jay were one couple who's not camera shy...and you gotta love that. It was a blast doing their e-session, and Jay had a few ideas for some crazy photos he wanted. Best of all, the chemistry between the two of them was a mix of sweet love + a lot of fun. They're truly a couple that will be laughing their way through life.
