Michelle + Greg | Engaged

Michelle was more than enthusiastic about being a Studio Blue bride. When we met, she expressed her passion for photography and a real desire to have unique, artistic images. Every now and then, I'll meet a nearlywed with a love for photography. Sure, all of our couples love great images, but I'm talking about a genuine love for being the person taking the pictures. I suppose it has its challenging elements--trying to please another photog's eye--but then again, there's quite a reward in knowing you delivered for a visual artist. In other words, there's certainly a different kind of appreciation another photographer has for the images you give them.

Michelle + Greg's e-session took place near Loring Park--a perfect mix of nature + concrete. The rain cleared just in time for our shoot, and everything seemed to dry quickly. The Loring Corners felt more like a narrow street in Europe than an alley in Minneapolis. With the range of pictures we were able to pull off in such a small location, it's definitely a new favorite place for me to shoot.

Kate + Andrew | Married

Summers are very busy for us, which means we get to work with a lot of fantastic couples at some really gorgeous venues. Kate and Andrew were one of those couples who were a blast to work with. Kate is by far the nicest person you'll ever meet...I don't think there's a negative bone in her body. Best of all, her smile is infectious and the camera loved it!

Her and Andrew had their first meet on the bridge outside Nicollet Island Pavilion. It was a tender and sweet moment that seemed to last forever. I'll never forget how they laughed and held each other. After that, we headed down to St. Anthony Main and captured a few shots by the Pillsbury Mill. Gotta love that classy meets gritty look!

Kate and Andrew really made this a classic summer wedding. Their ceremony was held on the pavilion, accompanied by a memorable choir that sang everyone into the social hour. I'm used to working on tight schedules before the reception, so it was good to finally get an opportunity to capture candids of guests laughing and enjoying hors d'oeuvres. We had a full day, but the best part for me (just like the wedding party and guests) is always the reception. Anyone who's seen us work knows the pictures wouldn't be complete without our unique dance floor coverage and new "blue booth" aka "photo booth unleashed."
